Furniture Up-Cycling Consulting Services
Often times, people have an existing piece of furniture that they just don't know what to do with, yet they don't want to get rid of it. That's where I step in. I can assess the furniture or accessory to determine if the item is a good fit for up-cycling, refinishing or restoring.
Is there a fee?
No. I provide a free 30 to 45-minute consult either by phone or via a face-to-face meeting.
How far will you travel for a consult?
I typically stay within a 75 mile radius of Cape Cod, but I will always try to accommodate longer distances if my schedule allows.
What can I expect from this consult?
I'll connect with you via phone or email to get a general description of the item you're considering having up-cycled, refinished or restored.
We'll discuss your preferences and the overall styling of your home or office. Is it traditional, contemporary, modern, transitional, eclectic, shabby-chic, beach/cottage-style, craftsman, farmhouse, rustic, midcentury, victorian, industrial, Asian, Mediterranean, Scandinavian, southwestern, or tropical?
We'll talk about the room the item will ultimately live in. Is this for the kitchen, dining, living, entertainment, bath, bedroom, baby/kids, office, foyer, hallway, porch, outdoors, or elsewhere? And, we'll talk about the surrounding furnishings and accessories you already have that will most likely accompany it.
Gaining a better understanding of you and your lifestyle will ultimately enable me to recommend colors and techniques that will best complete the piece of furniture or accessory item while complimenting the environment. I can share photos of similar work that I've completed. And, if we meet fact-to-face, I can show you painted sample boards.
If you email me a photo of the item, that is very helpful. If you'd like to arrange a face-to-face meeting so I can see the item in person, all the better. The consult will determine the cost for the work to be completed.
How do I get my item to you?
You can drop off the piece to me and pick it up when it's completed. Or, for a small fee, I can pick it up and deliver it when completed. If an agreement is reached right away at the conclusion of our face-to-face consult, I can leave with the item in hand.
